Details of the Friends' events including those that we are attending, are listed here. All the money raised benefits the Water Tower and Historic Garden for the conservation and future restoration.


More information will be published on the events as it becomes available. Check back regularly for any updates to the listed details.


Events are subject to change and are held at the Water Tower unless otherwise stated.

The Friends' Heritage Quiz with Quizmaster Amanda Hill


The popular Annual Quiz returns, Why not make up a team of 4? Can you win this year?


Time - 7.15pm for 7.30pm start.

First Opening of the Water Tower


Time 2.30pm - 5pm



Orangery Exhibition for the Season is the History of St. Philomena's Catholic High School for Girls.

First Opening of the Hermitage


Time - 2.30pm - 4.30pm



Please note: The Hermitage will open on the 1st & 3rd Sunday in the month when the Water Tower is open.

Saturday 18th


Times Past XIV : Supporting Britain


Films made to boost morale at home and aboard during World War II and the later 1940s Documentary and Public Information Films from John Freemans Archive.

A repeat of last Autumn's Showing.


Time 2.30pm - 4.30pm


 Price £4 each ticket.



Saturday 8th


Friends AGM from 2pm - 2.45pm


"The Men of the Wrythe"


A talk given by Margaret Thomas at 2.45pm followed by Tea.


Friends - Free.

Non-Friends - £5 each ticket.

Saturday 22nd


Summer Solstice Party: "The Dansant". 


Join us for our dansant 3pm to 5.30pm.  Display of Regency dances to watch: you are welcome to join in- no obligation.  Tthis is followed by a Jane Austen tea, then further dancing. No dressing up necessary. Tickets £10  Please book in advance to ensure catering requirements are met.


Saturday 6th


Carshalton Charter Fair


PLEASE NOTE: We have been informed by the Carshalton Society that this year’s Charter Fair has been CANCELLED.  


The event is normally held at the War Memorial Gardens, upper pond Carshalton.

Events at Honeywood Museum on the same day are not affected.

Openings on these dates also supporting The Festival of Archaeology, from the Council for British Archaeology.



Monday 26th


Carshalton Environmental Fair at Carshalton Park


The Friends to be present at this popular Bank Holiday event, publicising the Water Tower activities; sharing a stall  with The Carshalton Society. The Environmental Fair is held at Carshalton Park.


Time 10.30am-5pm

Time - 1pm - 5pm on both days.

Sunday 29th is the last Opening of the Water Tower. 2.30pm-5pm


The Water Tower public openings for the season end today, but there are still a number of events before the end of the year.

Times Past XV : Documentarty films from John Freeman's archive Looking at Life in Britain in the 1940s-1960s including transport, technology, travel.


This event is also in support of Museums at Night.

Carshalton House Tours

1.30pm & 3.15pm (Tower Open at 1pm)


A rare chance to see the ground floor interior of this important 18th century house led by local historian Andrew Skelton.
